Slow jam "Know this my beloved Sistas; let every Sista be quick to hear, slow to speak, ......................." James 1:19 Good morning wonderful Brothas and Sistas, Today's message is primarily for our Sistas but Brothas you can tune in. Sistas, believe it or not men actually would like to be able to talk and share what's going on inside. They would especially like to share their concerns about past mistakes and failures. But Sistas, YOU need to listen without judging them or giving them your opinion. Men really do need to be heard. Sistas, men really want to be transparent without feeling ridiculed or thought less of when they begin to pour their heart and soul out to their most trusted friend, YOU. This is not the time for you, Sista, to be pondering on things in your mind from your perspective as he is revealing his concerns to you. You need to be paying full attention to what is being said by him. He needs your undivided attention, but he DOES NOT like it when you say things like, " Didn't I tell you that would happen?", " I told you so.", or "If you would have listened to me none of this would have happened." Ladies, you have to remember men were given the role of protector and provider for the family and in having that responsibility they will sometimes make mistakes. Men desperately want to share their mistakes but they do not want to share them for fear of the " I told you so" or "You should have listened "syndrome"' being played out over and over again in their minds after they have taken the chance of being transparent with you. They know that once they have made mistakes they have to live with them. When you say things that condescend them it messes with their egos because of the leadership role God has given them. This in turn causes them to clam up. Sistas, it is not that men want to be closed or standoffish as some Sistas perceive them as being, but they would really like to be understood more than anything. They really want to share things, Sistas, therefore, you need to ask God to show you how to create a safe haven for them to do so. When they share their feelings you can say things like, " Well, that's okay, it is done." Women you can also pray that God will grant them wisdom on the next decision. Remember, women share all of the time and there are times when men would like to share too, but they don't feel it is safe to do so. Not all men are hard men but sometimes they become hardened or appear to be hardened because of what is being held in or what is not being communicated effectively due to fear. Women are excellent communicators by nature and share all of the time with one another as well as with their mates. A good relationship requires good communication from both parties. For the most part communication requires good listening more than anything. Sistas, please learn to listen to your mates. We Were Never Meant To Lose - Victory Already Won Praise

"And now shall mine head be lifted up above my enemies round about me:therefore will I offer in his tabernacle sacrifices of joy; I will sing, yea, I will sing praises unto the Lord." Psalm 27:6 Good morning to my triumphant Brothas and Sistas, I am reminded of the times when my family and I have either attended or watched various sporting events and how the home team will most often resort to tactics that will get the opposing team to lose focus and ultimately lose the game. I am reminded of how right in the middle of a game still in the process of being played of how the home team will begin to sing the victory chant. OK Brothas and Sistas, what's up with that? Didn't they read the scoreboard? Don't they know that the game is still in session, the whistle has not been blown, and the bleachers are still full? Well, somebody must have told them that the best way to be victorious is to know in advance that the game has already been won and to walk in victory before the game is over. In other words, the home team can sing the victory chant because they have the home field advantage. For you see they know the field because they have practiced so many times on that field that they know it like the back of their hands. Their coach have worked with them on team plays so often that they know the play book so much until it now has become a part of them. And this is how we should always be as Saints of God. We should know that since our coach daddy, God the Father, owns the earth, the fullness thereof, and all that dwells within it and since WE are His kids then we in turn have the home field advantage. When we are at practice (in His presence) and He begins to share the plays from the play book (the word of God) with us that we now have become prepared for the battle and ultimately are prepared for the victory. This in turn should make us want to sing the victory chant (praises unto our God) while we are in the heat of the battle. David knew this all to well when he was in the midst of the battle and he said, "And now shall mine head be lifted up above my enemies round about me: therefore will I offer in his tabernacle sacrifices of joy; I will sing, yea, I will sing praises unto the Lord." Psalm 27:6 Woo, David had enough sense to know that he had it like that and because of the excellent coachings of his Daddy he had already won the battle. That is why He said right there in the midst of the mess that he was in, "And now shall my head be lifted up above my enemies." David is hilarious because he reminds me of one of those spoiled little annoying kids that taunt you with the "Na na, nanna, na, na. I am going to go tell my daddy and you gonna get it. You just wait and see." You see, just like that spoiled little kid, David was already singing his victory chant when he continued with "therefore will I offer in his tabernacle sacrifices of joy; I will sing, yea, I will sing praises unto the Lord." I'm just sayin, since David knew who his coach, Daddy, was he trusted in His coaching skills, studied the play book, got his victory chant on, and was prepared for battle of which the victory had already been won. Psalm 24:8 says, "Who is the King of glory? the Lord strong and mighty, the Lord mighty in battle." He is just powerful like that!!!! You know back in the day we would whoop somebody's butt if they messed with one of our kids. It was ON!!! Well, He is willing and able to fight each one of his kids battles and whoop somebody's butt on our behalf just like a loving daddy would. We don't have to lift a finger in defense because he is our DEFENSE in the game of life!!!!! He is Jehovah Nissi, the Lord Our Banner!!! Brothas and Sistas, Psalm 150 reminds us that we need to praise Him wherever, whenever, however we get the chance to, with whatever we have even if it is in the heat of the battle. Psalm 147:1 says, "Praise ye the Lord: for it is good to sing praises unto our God; for it is pleasant; and praise is comely (fitting, proper)." In other words praise is the fitting and proper thing for us to do as Christians no matter what comes our way. Psalm 33:1 reminds us of that same thing but vs.9 stands out in particular because it says," For he spoke and it was done (having been carried out or accomplished; finished: a done deed) he commanded and it stood fast." That right there is powerful. I'm just sayin' that He is just that awesome that His mere words make us triumphant and it is done, finished and accomplished, the victory is already won y'all because He said so. We were never meant to lose! Brothas and Sistas, we can have victory already won praise! Don't wait til the battle is over when you can shout now! Praise Him!!!! "How Do We Love Today's Youth - Becoming The Village That God Would Have Us To Be"

"Father provoke not your children to wrath, but bring them up in the admonition of the Lord." Ephesians 6:4 "Train a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not turn from it." Proverbs 22:6 (NIV) Good morning Brothas and Sistas, Today's youth need more attention now than ever before. They live in a society where sex, violence and drugs are promoted and accepted. They have more peer pressure to face and overcome than any generation before them. Not only is society discouraging the youth from facing their problems but society also never seems to have a solution on how to make the situation better. Brothas and Sistas, who is willing to help? As dark as things may seem, there is hope. The hope comes from parents and community leaders working together hand in hand, giving children a positive foundation. These real life role models should be willing to invest time and energy to improve children's future. The old African proverb says- "It takes a whole village to raise one child." Brothas and Sistas, how many of us are guilty of seeing a wayward child in our community and quickly blame each other as if it is not our problem? We must realize that it is our problem. Much too often we give the children ultimatums instead of alternatives. This conflict is at the center of most of the problems between parents and their children. Ephesians 6:4 says, "Father provoke not your children to wrath, but bring them up in the admonition of the Lord." So if we are to restore the moral values and the God-fearing principles that defends the character of our children, it is up to us to be doers and not just hearers of God's words. Proverbs 22:6 (NIV) says, "Train a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not turn from it." Now with all that's been said, I must ask you, my Brothas and Sistas one more time, "How do we love today's youth?" And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, may have power, together with all the Lord’s holy people, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, and to know this love that surpasses knowledge—that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God." Ephesians 3:17 Good morning to all of my wonderful Brothas and Sistas, I was gazing across the room in deep thought about my family when my eyes were drawn to a potted plant in my living room. This wasn’t the first time that this plant caught my attention. Actually it was about the fourth time. The plant in-and-of-itself was just an ordinary house plant. The kind that grows long vines, that seem to take over the space. This particular morning, I was going about my routine and part of the routine included watering the plant. I did and thought nothing else about it, until about an hour later, while in deep thought about my family I happened (I’m sure by divine intervention) to look over at that one and only living plant, to notice the water droplets hanging from the very tips of the leaves. Brothas and Sistas, every time I see this it just fascinates me and immediately makes me stand in awe of God. It reminds me that, “He is the vine and we are the branches” (John 15:5, NIV). Before I repositioned the plant it was located on my coffee table, but it had grown so big, and so long that I had to move it to its own space. Before I moved it I would always notice that about an hour after I watered it there would be little, crystal clear, water droplets hanging from the tips of each leaf. The first time I noticed it God spoke to me and said, “Take notice that it doesn’t matter how far the leaves extend away from the root; every leaf is well watered.” The leaves closest to the root had droplets of water on the tips of the leaves and the parts of the plant that had extended six feet away from the root, still had droplets of water hanging from the tips of its leaves. As long as it was connected to the root; leaf distance from the root didn’t affect the roots ability to provide for the leaves. Every leaf was well watered. Brothas and Sistas, families are like this plant. There are many members (leaves), but one God (Root). And as long as we remain connected to the Root (God), we will remain connected as a family; regardless of how far apart we are. The families’ nourishment comes from its root system, and if that root system is rotten (unrighteous), then the leaves are void of nourishment, and they will wither and die. Brothas and Sistas, let’s pray that our families will, “be rooted and grounded in love” (Ephesians 3:17, NIV). Then we will be well watered, well nourished, and flourishing families in Christ Jesus our Lord. Amen. Love ya, Audrey Our Daily Bread "so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. Happy Fathers Day!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! A good man obtaineth favor of the Lord" Proverbs 12:2 Good morning my amazing Brothas and Sistas, Here is what I believe should be elements of a father: F - Faithful A - Available T - Teachable H - Humble E - Encouraging R - Responsible Brothas, we have been called to lead our families to the Lord. Take this day that the Lord has made and don't look down but look up to the hills where your help comes from. Psalm 121:1 Let your families know the lord is your light and salvation and there is no need to fear. Psalm 27:1. As you continue to stand tall and strong remember that no weapon formed against you shall prosper. Isaiah 54:17 And to those of us whose fathers are no longer here on earth, give honor to your pastor; for He has watched over you to build you up in the faith. If your dad is alive take the time to tell him how much you really appreciate him and thank him for the impact that he has had on your life. Brothas and Sistas, we must remember that often modern day television shows tend to make light of the role of fathers. Many times dads are ridiculed and the role of dad is down played and made to have no true significance. On the contrary to what our modern day media says the role of a dad is one of honor and true significance. Not every father is a dead beat dad, a dad who is absent, or simply just does not care. Brothas and Sistas, there are more than just a few good men (Brothas). To be good means to be excellent, virtuous, pious, to have favorable character. There are men that are excellent fathers, have favorable character, and are well loved by their children. The word says, "A good man obtaineth favor of the Lord" Proverbs 12:2 Many godly fathers take there role as a dad very seriously even to the point of sacrificing their own desires for the sake and welfare of their families. I see this so often especially in the Christian men that the Lord has placed in my life. These men are willing to lay their lives down for their biological children, step children, and spiritual children. There is no greater love than this. And in doing so these men exemplify the epitome of an awesome and great sacrificial love just as our Savior did and does for us on a daily basis. These Brothas are called by God to carry out this awesome task. Scripture says, "Faithful is He who calleth you that will also do it"(I Thess. 5:24) God does the work through these great men as they submit to Him. Many of these men are spiritual leaders within their homes. They know the significance of prayer and complete reliance on our heavenly Father. These men are men of an unshakable faith. We honor these men who take time to seek wisdom and get guidance from their heavenly Father and do not march to the beat of the worlds point of view. They know that they cannot rely on their own strength but His. These men have taken claim of the scripture that says, " I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me." Phil. 4:13. Many of these Brothas hold more than one job because they realize that it is their role to provide for their families and they sacrifice themselves to make sure that their families are financially secure. How awesome is that? These excellent dads take time to instruct their children in the things of God and don't waiver or shrink back but stand firm on the word of God when challenged by their children and the world to do otherwise. Often dads play the role of cook, taxicab driver, driving school instructor, maid, gardener, mechanic, teacher, house manager, accountant etc. But there most honored and cherished role is the one of Dad. We honor these Brothas today for there excellence and willingness to do what is best for their children in spite of the cost. They are the priest of our homes, within our communities, our churches, and the workplace and by no means should we take their positions lightly. We give praise to our heavenly Father for our excellent dads today and everyday!!!! Happy Father's Day!!!!! A good man obtaineth favor of the Lord" Proverbs 12:2 Dear Lord, We thank you and praise you first and foremost for being such an excellent Father to us, your kingdom children. We pray for all of our fathers whether they be biological fathers, Godfathers, step fathers, spiritual fathers, etc. to enjoy this day that you have given to us to honor them. Lord, these are all good (excellent) men and we are grateful that you have given them to us. We pray that our Brothas and Sistas would take time to cherish the fathers, step fathers, Godfathers, spiritual fathers, or other father figures that you have placed in their lives. Lord, we pray if there is any unforgiveness between any of our dear Brothas and Sistas and their father or father figure that you would reconcile them back to one another. Lord, we pray for your blessings over each Fathers Day celebration that has been planned to honor this precious day. Worry or Worship? Laying Aside Every Weight and Sin; I Choose To Worship

"Jesus answered, "It is written: 'Worship the Lord your God and serve him only.'" Luke 4:8 Good morning my wonderful Sistas, My prayer for you today and everyday is that above all else you would choose to worship, Him and Him only. Worship Him with your entire being today. Praise Him!!!!! Smooches, Me Sistas, worship is never defined by our present state. It looks beyond our current circumstance and pushes us to the realm of nevertheless. Worry is defined by our present state. It allows us to remain locked into our current circumstance, our current situation, and our current drama. Worship says not as I will in my flesh Father, but as you would have me to will in the Spirit of your presence. Worry says I will envelope myself in the cares of this old, tired world and allow my flesh and the enemy to nag me senseless regardless of the words of deliverance and destiny He has spoken to me. Worship is defined as the reverent love and devotion accorded God; showing reverence and gratitude to God. Worship is an act of ones will. It says, "In spite of all that I am going through Lord, I have willfully decided upon this course of action to worship You, Lord." My body is riddled with pain, the mortgage is due, my children have lost their natural born minds, and I might even receive a pink slip today, but nonetheless I choose to worship. I choose to worship you Lord, however it is not based on a feeling or my emotions. For you see, I can get the warm fuzzies from any human being or thing at any old time, but at this current place in time I prefer to love up on you like never before and be raptured up in the fullness of you. And I choose to lay aside all that would prohibit me from doing so. Worry is defined as to torment oneself with or suffer from disturbing thoughts; fret;to be or make anxious: to feel anxious about something unpleasant that may have happened or may happen, or make somebody do this. Worry says I trust my intuition, my intellectual hypothesis, my reasoning over the Omniscient One hands down because obviously I know more about the situation than He does. It also says to the Lord, " Lord, I got this. As a matter of fact I will take it from here, because I don't have time to wait for you to supernaturally work this thing out and you are taking way too long with this process. So I tell you what, you take care of all of the rest of the earth's woes and all that goes on in heaven and let me do me. I will just continue to psyche myself out and let the enemy play head games with me and forget all about resting in you today." As a matter of fact worry says, "I don't trust you at all Lord." Sistas, when we truly know Him worship will eventually override worry and say, "Eventhough my situation would warrant me to throw a pity party. I choose to worship you based on my involvement with you over a period of time. And to be quite frank, my involvement with you, just as with any other lover leads to an increased knowledge of not just who you perceive yourself to be, but who you indeed are. Out of my many liaisons (experiences) with you I have acquired the skill of becoming familiar with your ways. And because I have obtained some know how of your capabilities by practicing being in your presence; I have indeed encountered the essence of who you have deemed (decided; judged; regarded as) yourself to be. Nevertheless, I have to give myself to thee in total submission (the act of yielding, or surrendering) to you in true worship. Have is defined as must. I not only choose to worship you but I must worship You. Must is defined as urged to : ought by all means. Lord I am urged (compelled) to worship You. Lord, by all means (without hesitation or doubt; certainly) I ought to worship YOU. Sistas, our daily confession must be, "Lord I choose not to worship mere man or the stuff that You have given me, but I choose to worship You with my entire existence. And out of my worship will come service to you and You only. "Jesus answered, "It is written: 'Worship the Lord your God and serve him only.'" Luke 4:8 Worship is something that I refuse to just do on Sunday morning, sistas but it indeed will be a lifestyle for me regardless of what comes my way. Lord, I choose (decide or prefer above all other possible alternatives) to worship YOU!!!! Praise Him!!!!! |
"Having It My Way"

God declares that I should, “Be holy as He is holy,” (1 Peter 1:5) & (Lev. 11:44-45) and “Walk in the Spirit so that I will not fulfill the lustful desires of the flesh” (Gal. 5:16) Good morning Sistas. I've got to tell you, recently I had a rude awakening. I woke up to see that I am overweight. Sistas, you know the sad part about it is that I’ve been overweight for 29 years. I say that I was able to see it because that’s the day when I became fully aware of it. Not so much of the weight, but the reason for it. It’s not like I didn’t notice it before. It's not like I haven’t tried to overcome it many, many, many times before. But this time something clicked. When the revelation came to me I went to my Father in prayer. Initially I went to complain about being overweight and then I ended up trying to explain about being overweight. How many of us know me explaining myself away didn't work? And this next question that He asked proves it. After I was done, He asked, “So when did you go back to eating what you want?” I thought, “Lord what are you talking about?” And He explained that, “Being overweight has become my lifestyle by choice. It didn’t happen by accident. The truth is I have been choosing to maintain an unhealthy way of eating for 29 years.” And I still didn’t comprehend until He said, “When you decided to eat what you wanted instead of what you know nurtures and nourishes your body, that’s when you chose to remain overweight and unhealthy.” Sistas, that got my attention because I know what to do and how to do it but I just have not done it. For instance, I’ve taken the time to train in nutritional balance, but I’ve neglected to practice it. And therefore I haven’t been reaping the benefits from the wisdom. And furthermore, I was sinning. The bible says, “Anyone, then, who knows the good he ought to do and doesn't do it, sins” (James 4:17). After spending some time meditating on what He said to me, I came to the understanding that I simply cannot eat, nor do anything that I want. I was not created to "have it my way". Even when my body is craving sugar and I know I’m allergic to it, I can’t "have it my way". Even when I really want to eat out, Sistas, I can’t "have it my way". And when I’m bored and wanting to snack my way through it, I still can’t "have it my way". God has not designed my body to take in junk food and excess calories and thrive. It’s just not going to happen. So in taking inventory of the situation, I’ve noticed that when I eat what is nurturing and nourishing to my body it responds by shedding the excess pounds. Another by product of nurturing and nourishing my body is increased energy and clarity in my thinking. The most fascinating benefit that I’ve noticed is that I’m not thinking about or craving food all day long, it does not master me. After I revisited the weight loss story for the ump-teenth time, I have finally realized that my good health comes not from my ability to get it right, but to do it right. I have struggled for years trying to overcome obesity on my own strength, when all I really needed to do was be obedient. Years ago, God taught me what to do, how to do it, when to do it, and why. But like others who have failed at the diet thing, I would start a healthy eating plan but never finish it. I would return to eating what I wanted instead of what is right for me. And that’s when I would hear a knock on the door of my conscience telling me that it was a failure. And that knock would usually lead to him taking me to go meet up with guilt and condemnation. And eventually we would go to the house of pity, which would always throw a party, and invite me to celebrate defeat, with pain and suffering leading the festivities. Sistas, the world will tell us that we can eat to our heart’s content, but when I do that, five minutes after the feast I’m sick and tired and needing a nap. For me understanding that I don’t have the right to eat anything and everything because it’s not God’s best for me, really helped me. God has a prescribed way of living in every area of life, including what is best for my body, which is the temple of the living God. God declares that I should, “Be holy as He is holy,” (1 Peter 1:5) & (Lev. 11:44-45) and “Walk in the Spirit so that I will not fulfill the lustful desires of the flesh” (Gal. 5:16) I’ve noticed that when I keep my mind stayed on Jesus, I don’t give into the temptation of the devil. And when I keep my mind stayed on Jesus, I’m able to drop the excess weight easily because food is not my comforter. But as soon as I take my mind off Jesus and put it back on me, that’s when I return to "having it my way". This results in me hanging out with failure, pity, defeat, pain, and needless suffering. By keeping my mind stayed on Jesus, I get to see myself through His eyes. My weaknesses are diminished and my strengths are magnified. And the only master I have is the One that loves me. Sistas, let’s not become slaves to sin when we can become victorious in righteousness. "Having it our way" is not God’s way. So let’s turn around and follow Him. He will lead us to victory. Your Gift Will Make Room for You

"Each man’s or woman’s gifts and talents are not meant to be in competition with one another, but they are to be complementary, those abilities needed to complete the whole…that is to build up the Body of Christ................" I Corinthians 12:4-31 I Kings 17 Good morning to my precious, power packed Brotha and Sistas, Isn't it amazing that most of us lose focus and stop serving when the enemy places an assault on our lives, ministries, children, sense of peace, and over all well being? We somehow are compelled to believe that this is the time to take a break and focus on the the problem and not the problem solver. We stop concentrating on meeting the needs of others and become selfishly aware of our own issues to the point where we begin to sing the same old, tired lyrics to our constant sad, pitiful song day in and day out. What most of us fail to recognize is that this is the time that we need to dig in and keep doing ministry regardless of what the enemy throws our way. Brotha and Sistas, if we look at our text we see Elijah going about and doing all that the Lord had called him to do. Let's take for instance he visited a widow who had very little to offer. Elijah asked her for water and bread. We see that in the beginning this Sista had an issue with him asking for bread and water when she could not physically see how she could make this request happen for this great man of God. She had very little water because there had been no rain and she had hardly any flour left. As a matter of fact, she had already mentally written her household a death sentence because at this point she did not have enough faith to see beyond where she was. She had to think to herself, "Has this Negro lost his mind? Who is he to come up in here and freeload at a time like this. Is he crazy?" (I King 17:13) But as you can see, after some convincing she submitted to the prophet. You see in spite of how she felt she trusted the word of the Lord that came through His prophet; just as we should. And it is amazing that through her obedience she took the little that she had and offered (to present for acceptance or rejection to present in order to meet a need or satisfy a requirement) it to him and the Lord increased it. I want you to take notice that only after she was obedient and used her gift to bless someone else regardless of how small it seemed to be to her, God multiplied the little that she had. You see this woman had first hand knowledge of the pitiful state that she was in. She was living it day to day. She knew all too well what it was like to live in a situation that left you dry and weary with no future hope. The Lord not only provided for her for that one day, but for many days after. Now you would think that after she used her gift to bless someone that everything would be well with her household. I mean after all she had been obedient so why shouldn't things go well with her and her household? But oh, not so, Brotha and Sistas. Her son soon became ill. He not only became ill, but he was actually soon to be on his way up out of here. "And she said unto Elijah, What have I to do with thee, O thou man of God? art thou come unto me to call my sin to remembrance , and to slay my son? I Kings 17:18 Ok, Brothas and Sistas, here is where she become a Real SISTA, you know the kind like us; straight from the HOOD, neck bobbing, head swinging back and forth, hands on her hips, lips all twisted, eyes squinting, and she says to him. (Paraphrasing - Michelle's version) "Negro pahlease (please), do you see my son dying right before you? Was this God's plan all along to punish me for my past sins by asking you to come up in here eating up all my food like you know me like that and then have the nerve to be in cahoots with God to take my son up out of here on a permanent basis? You know what you 'bout to get your feelings hurt for real though and I ain't playin'." I Kings 17:19-24 And you know Brothas and Sistas, in spite of her response, Elijah looked on this woman and her son with great compassion for her gift of giving and her gift of hospitality and asked the Lord to bring her child back to life and the Lord did just that. And he said unto her, Give me thy son. And he took him out of her bosom, and carried him up into a loft, where he abode , and laid him upon his own bed. And he cried unto the LORD, and said , O LORD my God, hast thou also brought evil upon the widow with whom I sojourn , by slaying her son? And he stretched himself upon the child three times, and cried unto the LORD, and said , O LORD my God, I pray thee, let this child's soul come into him again. And the LORD heard the voice of Elijah; and the soul of the child came into him again , and he revived . And Elijah took the child, and brought him down out of the chamber into the house, and delivered him unto his mother: and Elijah said , See , thy son liveth. And the woman said to Elijah, Now by this I know that thou art a man of God, and that the word of the LORD in thy mouth is truth." I Kings 17:18-24 This is the exact same thing that He does for all of us. He looks down on each and every one of His children with great compassion and He sees those of us that are faithful with His gifts, those who continue to bless others with these gifts in spite of the threats that the enemy sends our way; and God in turn blesses us for our faithfulness. You see not only did this widow's obedience to use her gifts make room for her, but so did Elijah's willingness to use his gifts opened doors for him to be fed and cared for while he was fulfilling the call that was placed on his life. Brothas and Sistas, what about you? Give Him A New Song For A New Year

"Oh, clap your hands, all you people! Shout to God with the voice of triumph! Sing praises to God, sing praises, sing praises! Sing praises to our King, sing praises! For God is the King of all the earth; sing praises with understanding." Psalm 47:1, 6, 7 Good morning Brothas and Sistas, As we journey through the memories of this past year I pray we do it with sheer adoration and praise for the One who has so valiantly brought us through it. He saw fit to get us through so many things and while we stand in awe and excitement on the threshold of new things to come, we can't do nothing but shout, "Thank You Lord for you have been faithful" If you are anything like me, if your story is anything at all like my story, you have had some trials in your life that you know that if it had not been for the Lord who was on your side you would have been swallowed up in defeat this year, BUT GOD! And because He has been so awesomely, extraordinarily good we need to give Him some off the hook Tehillah praise! Tehillah praise means to sing, to laud (to praise highly, glorify, acclaim, celebrate, compliment, honor, extol). Tehillah praise springs forth a spontaneous new song. This type of praise cannot be confined. It is singing from a melody that comes from the depths of ones' heart. It is the type praise that creates a song that is birthed from ones' experiences with Him. It does not necessarily have a particular pattern, it is unrehearsed and unprepared, so the definition says. But I believe that the song was rehearsed and prepared in the heart of God sent straight down from the throne room via the Holy Spirit to saturate the soul and spirit of the worshipper willing and ready to receive it. We call this CRAZY OFF THE CHAIN PRAISE! You know how it is when we spend time with Him and He showers us with His sweet and precious promises we want to return the favor by openly serenading Him in the presence of other believers of like heart and mind. Hallelujah! Tehillah praise allows the true worshiper to sing directly to God without apprehension or fear of those around them. This is the type of praise that wants to love up on Him and Him only. Let's look at what Psalm 47 has to say about it for you see David is petitioning, beckoning, challenging us to sing praise to our King and our God of all the earth." And then he goes on to say, "Sing praise with understanding." The definition of understanding is comprehension or personal interpretation. I like that for you see in order for us to praise Him we must first come to the full comprehension of who He is by way of us personally encountering His goodness and that promotes our own personal interpretation of who and what He is to us which in turn ignites a fire within to render Him some Tehillah praise, some out of control praise! Brothas and Sistas, take some time to reflect upon the past year. I bet you can't hold back from offfering Him some real Tehillah praise!!! Give Him a New Song for a new day, for a New Year! Prayer of Faith Lord, we praise you for what's to come in the New Year! We praise you for us making it to a new year! We praise you for you! In Jesus name we pray! Amen. |
Our Heavenly Father - The Giver of All Good Gifts

If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children, how much more shall your Father which is in heaven give good things to them that ask him? Matthew 7:9-11 Good morning Brothas and Sistas, We live in an era were many promoters in an attempt to increase sales and the consumers knowledge of a commodity/product being offered will often promise things that lead them to believe that they will obtain FREE /GIFTS or GIVEAWAYS such as FREE VACATIONS, FREE CARS, FREE FOOD, and FREE CASH. They would even go so far as to have consumers believe that they are now multi millionaires because out of a billion sweepstakes entries their names were the one’s chosen to win the sweepstakes drawing. As Christians we should know that this is a lie straight from the pit because there is a hidden agenda. The goal is to draw us in so that they will actually believe the world’s lie that it is possible for us to get something from them for nothing. Why should we look to the world’s lies when our heavenly Father has already promised and has delivered on His promise to FREELY give us all things? “God is not a man, that he should lie; neither the son of man, that he should repent: hath he said, and shall he not do it? or hath he spoken, and shall he not make it good?” Numbers 23:19 Our Father is not like your traditional one night stand where He will make good on all promises before He gets YOUR GIFT, for whatever God says He will do, we can bank on it. “For all the promises of God in him are yea, and in him Amen, unto the glory of God by us.” II Corinthians 1:20 Only Jehovah Jireh, the Lord God our Provider can make good on everything He says He will GIVE to us. Matthew 7:9-11 says, “Or what man is there of you, whom if his son ask bread, will he give him a stone? Or if he ask a fish, will he give him a serpent? If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children, how much more shall your Father which is in heaven give good things to them that ask him?” He is not like that absentee father who makes empty promises or who will just give you any old thing or gift just to get you off of His back. He liberally gives to each and everyone of His children when we seek His face. Give is defined as to present voluntarily and without expecting compensation; bestow, to hand to someone, to place in someone's care. Most promoters will promise us something to get something in return from us. On the contrary, our Father in heaven promises His children GOOD (of high quality; excellent) things we ask Him for without reservation, compensation, or hidden cost. Antonyms for good are best and better. Our Heavenly Father gives us His very best because He knows that we can do so much better. That’s why there is no need for us to worry. He’s got our back!!!! Our Father is the giver of all good gifts. |
